Make a GST invoice in a minute: fill in your business, customer and items, and the taxes, total and amount in words work themselves out. Then drag the blocks to arrange the invoice the way you like, and print it or save it as a PDF.

How to make an invoice
- Fill in Your business once. Add a logo if you have one. It’s remembered in this browser for next time.
- Add the customer under Bill to, then the invoice number and dates.
- Add your items with quantity, rate and GST rate. Drag ⠿ to reorder them.
- Choose CGST + SGST for a sale within your state, or IGST for a sale to another state.
- Click Print or save PDF. To get a PDF, choose Save as PDF as the printer.
For the next bill, click New invoice. Your business and bank details stay, the customer and items are cleared, and the invoice number goes up by one (INV-2026-001 becomes INV-2026-002).
Arrange the layout
Every part of the invoice is a block: logo, title and dates, your business, the customer, items, totals, amount in words, bank details, UPI QR code, notes and signature.
- Move a block: hover over it on the invoice and drag the ⠿ handle, or drag it in the Layout list. On a phone, use the Layout list.
- Put two blocks side by side: make both Half width. Make a block Full width to give it its own row.
- Hide a block: click ✕ on the invoice, or untick it in the Layout list.
Empty blocks are skipped automatically, so if there’s no logo or UPI ID, nothing is left blank on the page.
CGST + SGST or IGST?
| Sale | Tax | At 18% GST |
|---|---|---|
| Within your state (intra-state) | CGST + SGST | 9% CGST + 9% SGST |
| To another state (inter-state) | IGST | 18% IGST |
| You’re not GST-registered | No GST | Plain invoice, no tax lines |
The first two digits of a GSTIN are the state code (32 is Kerala, 29 is Karnataka, 27 is Maharashtra). If you enter both GSTINs, the tool warns you when the tax type doesn’t match the states.
A GST tax invoice usually shows the supplier’s and customer’s details with GSTINs, a unique invoice number (up to 16 characters), the date, HSN or SAC codes, quantity, taxable value, the tax rate and amount, the place of supply and a signature. Check with your accountant for anything specific to your business.
Make the same invoice in Excel
If you’d rather keep invoices in a workbook, these formulas do the same work as the tool:
| Cell | What it does | Formula |
|---|---|---|
| Taxable value (F5) | Quantity × rate | =D5*E5 |
| Line amount (H5) | Adds GST to each row | =F5*(1+G5) |
| Tax at 18% | Totals the tax for one rate | =SUMIFS(F5:F20,G5:G20,18%)*18% |
| CGST and SGST | Half the tax each | =ROUND(J5/2,2) |
| Grand total | Rounded to the rupee | =ROUND(SUM(H5:H20),0) |
| Invoice date | Today’s date | =TODAY() |
For the amount in words, see convert numbers to words in Excel or the macro for rupees in words. For the QR code, see the UPI QR code generator.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes. No sign-up, no watermark and no limit on invoices.
Where are my details saved?
Only in your own browser, on this device, so they’re filled in the next time you open the page. Nothing is sent to this site. Use Clear everything in the Layout section to remove them, especially on a shared computer.
Can I add my logo and signature?
Yes. Upload them under Your business and Notes and signature. PNG files with a transparent background look best.
Does the UPI QR code include the amount?
Yes. Add your UPI ID under Payment details. The QR code carries the invoice total and number, so your customer only has to scan and pay.
Can I use it for non-GST or foreign invoices?
Yes. Choose No GST and change the title to Invoice, Bill or Estimate. Switch the currency to USD, EUR, GBP or AED, and the amount in words follows (dollars and cents, for example).
